Boardshort (Peach Skin)

This soft fabric features a brushed texture on one side, similar to the skin of a peach, with the added bonus of being wrinkle resistant. Commonly known as “boardshort” fabric, it is quick-drying and durable.

Most often used for boardshorts and other bottom-weight garments such as skirts and shorts, it’s also a great option for the outer layer of lightweight jackets and bag-making projects, particularly beach bags. Practical and easy to care for, this fabric is designed for both function and comfort.

Mesh

Mesh Fabric is a lightweight, breathable fabric made from 82% polyester and 18% spandex, offering flexibility and comfort for a wide range of sewing projects. It features a four-way stretch and an open, net-like structure, allowing excellent airflow while creating a modern, sporty look.

Both durable and versatile, mesh fabric is ideal for activewear panels, leggings, tank tops, lightweight jackets, bags, and accessories. Its semi-transparent structure also makes it suitable for cosmetic bags, backpacks, and creative sewing projects, adding texture and visual interest. Mesh can even be used for light home décor projects, craft applications, and breathable pet accessories.

A practical and creative addition to any fabric stash, mesh fabric combines ventilation, stretch, and contemporary style.

Swim

Swim Fabric is a smooth, stretchy performance knit made from 86% polyester and 14% spandex, designed for comfort, movement, and durability. It features excellent stretch, a cool slinky hand feel, and beautiful drape, along with UPF 50+ protection for added sun safety.

Lightweight, breathable, and fast drying, this fabric is ideal for swimwear, activewear, dancewear, costumes, tights, circle skirts, dresses, swim cover-ups, and t-shirts. Its flexibility and comfort make it suitable for both water-based and everyday garments.

A versatile addition to any fabric stash, swim fabric combines stretch, durability, and performance.

Tip: For swimwear, rinse and wash garments as soon as possible after exposure to chlorine to help extend the life of the fabric.

OUR FABRICS

Caring for your fabrics

IMPORTANT: Fabric can shrink by up to 10% in its first wash, so we highly recommend pre-washing all fabric before starting your sewing projects. Wash your fabric the same way you plan to wash the finished garment to avoid surprises later.

We recommend washing in cool water (40°C or below) on a gentle cycle, and line drying in the shade. Use a quality laundry detergent without whitening or bleaching agents to help preserve colour, and wash with similar colours.

Some sewists like to use colour catchers when washing knit fabrics for the first time, but this is optional.

Swim fabric care: If you are sewing with swim fabric, rinse and wash garments as soon as possible after exposure to chlorine to help extend the life of the fabric.
